$1,450,000 Settlement Reached for 133 Employees in Premera Overtime Lawsuit

Lieff Cabraser represented a class of technical support workers against Premera Blue Cross and its subsidiaries LifeWise Health Plan of Oregon and LifeWise Assurances, Co. (“Premera”), aleging that Premera had a common practice of misclassifying its technical support workers as exempt and failing to pay them for all overtime hours worked in violation of overtime pay laws. In June 2011, the Court approved a collective and class action settlement of $1.45 million. The average net recovery per class member was over $7,000 each.
