Bankruptcy proceedings force narrow window for Wine Country and Camp wildfire victims to make claims
Northern California wildfire victims, including those who suffered injury and losses as a result of the 2017 North Bay and 2018 Camp fires, have only until October 21, 2019 to file proof of claims against PG&E. Formal notice of the filing deadline was issued in June by U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Dennis Montali after PG&E announced its plans to declare Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Individuals with claims against PG&E (including all 2017 and 2018 fire victims) must submit a proof of claim by the October 2019 deadline or will likely lose the chance to seek compensation.
Lieff Cabraser will be filing proofs of claim on behalf of all our clients, and will consider taking on new clients seeking help with the filing process in some cases. If you are a fire victim without a lawyer, the claim form can be accessed and submitted electronically at: https://pgewildfireinfo.com/.
