Buccellato v. AT&T Employee Overtime Lawsuit Settlement for $12,500,000
On June 30, 2011, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California granted final approval of a collective and class action settlement of $12,500,000 for a group of current and former AT & T technical support workers nationwide. The litigation involves allegations by the plaintiffs that AT & T Operations Inc. has a common practice of misclassifying its technical support workers as exempt and failing to pay them for all overtime hours worked in violation of federal and state overtime pay laws. AT & T employs thousands of technical support workers nationwide.
The settlement covers all individuals in the following six positions who worked for AT & T Operations, Inc. from February 1, 2008 to February 17, 2011:
- Business Manager IT
- Senior IT Analyst
- Senior Project/Program Manager IT
- Technical Architect
- Project Manager IT
- Technical Design Engineer
Settlement checks were sent to all participating class members on August 19, 2011. The average net recovery per class member was over $10,500 each.
