Since 1986, Equal Justice Works has been dedicated to facilitating opportunities for law students and lawyers to engage in public service and bring lasting change to underserved communities across the nation.
The Equal Justice Works Annual Dinner is one of the largest fundraising dinners in Washington, D.C. hosted by a nonprofit organization. The event raises the critical funds needed to support programs that serve to mobilize passionate public service leaders. Last year’s event raised over $3 million.
Each fall, Equal Justice Works honors lawyers who exemplify the values of compassion, dedication, and commitment to achieving America’s promise of equal justice for all.
On Thursday, October 24, 2019, from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m., David Zapolsky, the Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary of Amazon will be honored with the 2019 Scales of Justice Award in recognition of his commitment to the upholding of consumer rights, employee rights and human rights.
The dinner will take place at the Washington Hilton in Washington, DC. Lieff Cabraser is a Pillar of Justice sponsor of the event.
