Important Information About Tree Death and Damage Allegedly Caused By Dupont's Imprelis Herbicide and Your Legal Options

November 29, 2011

Deadline to report a claim to DuPont is tomorrow, November 30, 2011.

There are other options to consider.

A new website, www.TreeDamageInfo.com, has launched to provide critical information about DuPont Imprelis®, a weed-killing product alleged to be responsible for harming trees, shrubs, and other non-target foliage. The website includes photographs of Imprelis®-related damage, instructions on what to do if your property has been damaged, and information about legal options available to residential and commercial property owners harmed by Imprelis®.

Imprelis and Trees

Property owners should be aware that DuPont has imposed a November 30, 2011, deadline to participate in its claims resolution process, and that this is not their only option. Lawyers representing property owners and landscapers suing DuPont for Imprelis® damage have launched www.TreeDamageInfo.com in an effort to expose the potential pitfalls of DuPont's claim resolution process as well as to provide information about other legal options. The website contains a registration page to request additional information about pending class action lawsuits against DuPont.

Owners of residential properties and commercial properties (including golf courses, where Imprelis® was used extensively), as well as landscapers and lawn care specialists are encouraged to visit www.TreeDamageInfo.com to learn more about Imprelis® damage and the important steps they should consider taking.

Background

Imprelis® was marketed and sold to professionals treating residential and commercial lawns, golf courses, and sod farms nationwide as a product that would control broadleaf weeds on lawns, including dandelion, clover, wild violet, and ground ivy, among others. In August, the EPA banned the sale or use of Imprelis® because of the damage it has caused to trees, shrubs, and other foliage, and because DuPont allegedly withheld information about these damaging side effects when it registered Imprelis with the EPA.

Forty-six class action lawsuits have been filed in seventeen federal courts nationwide against DuPont regarding Imprelis® damage. All of these cases have recently been consolidated in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, located in Philadelphia. Next steps in the litigation include demonstrating to the Court that the litigation should proceed as a class action on behalf of everyone harmed by Imprelis® and establishing the amount of damages suffered by property owners and landscapers.

Visiting www.TreeDamageInfo.com will enable you to learn important information about the damage Imprelis® has caused, as well as your legal options.
